An Annotated Bibliography of the Biology of the Coast Redwood

(Sequoia sempervirens (D.Don) Endl.), by Deborah L. Rogers

Introduction
The appreciation of coast redwood, the preparation of well-reasoned plans for its conservation, and the pursuit of a better understanding of the species through research, are all enhanced and supported when currently-available information about the species is well organized and readily accessible. This annotated bibliography of the biology of coast redwood has been prepared with such support functions in mind. The articles are treated here as independent units of information: the bibliography was not prepared with the intent of any particular application other than improving awareness of coast redwood biology and facilitating access to such literature. The complete bibliography is available for download below (Adobe Acrobat Reader required).

Since 1918, Save the Redwoods League has saved ancient redwood forests and redwood ecosystems to ensure that current and future generations can feel the awe and peace that these precious natural wonders inspire. We also save redwoods because they are rare — their natural range is only in central and northern California and southern Oregon — and because they are Earth’s tallest and some of the oldest and most massive living beings.
