Sure, it’s a little bigger than your typical campfire hootenanny, but not that much bigger. They cap the crowd at 500 per night, and they seem to have a way of selecting performers whose music resonates particularly well bouncing off the bark of those old-growth redwoods.
Proceeds from this year’s festival will help the Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods and Save the Redwoods League education and park stewardship programs, as well as the restoration of the natural and cultural resources in California’s state parks.
Featured performers on Saturday, Sept. 14, include The Sam Chase and the Untraditional (Punk-infused Folk-Rock) and Rainbow Girls (Eclectic Folk Trio).
Gates open at 4:30 p.m. Showtime is 5:30 p.m.

Docent-led hikes through Armstrong Redwoods old growth forest will be offered prior to the gates opening each day. Docents will meet you in the front parking lot of Armstrong Redwoods in front of the Welcome Center. On Saturday your docent will be from Stewards of the Coast and Redwoods and on Sunday your docent will be from Save the Redwoods League. The cost is $20 per person. Discounts apply.
