Every second Saturday of each month in 2018, Save the Redwoods League and California State Parks has hosted a free day in the redwoods. Parking passes are available on a first-come, first-served basis each month, ahead of the next event. Our final event is on December 8 — download your free pass now!
We invite you to stand under the world’s tallest and largest living creatures — the most powerful forests in the fight against climate change — and learn why we are working so hard to protect and restore them.
Be amazed and inspired by the beauty and power of these natural treasures.
Free Redwoods Days Events in December
Our Centennial Year might be winding down, but our fascination with the redwood forest—from the tallest trees down to the smallest mushrooms—never wanes. In December, as redwood forests receive winter’s first showers, vibrant new life springs forth from underneath the duff. As you venture out into the forests this month, keep an eye out for all signs of life popping up in every corner and crevice along the trails.
Check out these fun events from our park partners on December 8:
- Jack London State Historic Park: Hike to the Ancient Redwood at 10 a.m.
Saturday, December 8 is the final Free Second Saturday in Redwood State Parks. Now’s your chance to visit one of the more than 40 redwood state parks for free in celebration of the League’s Centennial and our longstanding friendship with California State Parks.
Visit FreeRedwoodsDays.org to plan your visit and to get your parking pass. (Don’t wait! Passes for certain parks go fast!) Also, be sure to sign up for our mailing list to receive notifications when the passes to the next free second Saturday are available for download.
We can’t wait to see you on the trails! Hope you join us on December 8th!
