LINEUP

Sam Chase & The Untraditional
The Sam Chase & The Untraditional hails from San Francisco, California. This juggernaut of a band blends rock n roll with folk music while maintaining the sensibilities and attitudes that come from growing up on a healthy diet of punk rock. The leader of the band is The Sam Chase himself, a natural storyteller with a voice that sounds as if it has weathered many an epic tale. With boot stomping orchestration and lyrics that have been immortalized on the tattooed skin of their fans, The Sam Chase & The Untraditional doesn’t mess around. These are the warriors we need in these troubled times.

Rainbow GirlsRainbow Girls are an eclectic folk trio hailing from the golden countryside just north of California’s Bay Area. Comprised of three unique musical talents – Vanessa May, Erin Chapin, and Caitlin Gowdey – they seamlessly combine soul-touching harmonies, vari-textured instrumentals, and poignant lyrical content into an unusually beautiful sonic tapestry. Pairing their voices with an ever-changing amalgamation of acoustic and slide guitar, keys, upright bass, voice, harmonica, and an array of more unexpected vocal techniques like beat-boxing and mouth trumpet, they create engaging and emotionally moving live performances.

Jay SomJay Som’s Melina Duterte is a master of voice: Hers are dream pop songs that hint at a universe of her own creation. Recording as Jay Som since 2015, Duterte’s world of shy, swirling intimacies always contains a disarming ease, a sky-bent sparkle and a grounding indie-rock humility. After spending her teen years and early 20s exploring an eclectic array of musical styles — studying jazz trumpet as a child, carrying on her Filipino family tradition of spirited karaoke, and quietly recording indie-pop songs in her bedroom alone — she found herself playing festivals around the world, sharing stages with the likes of Paramore, Death Cab for Cutie, and Mitski. In November of 2017, seeking a new environment, Duterte left her home of the Bay Area for Los Angeles. There she honed in on simplicity and groove, refining her skills as a producer, and cracked her sound open subtly, highlighting its best parts: She’s bloomed.

Alex BleekerAlex Bleeker, a Jersey-bred songwriter who now calls the North Coast home, has developed a flourishing solo career outside of his bass playing duties for the now seminal indie-pop band Real Estate. Bringing together like-minded players and friends, he and his able-minded Freaks have released three albums of material with songs that wander in slow motion like a coastline drive, drawing on the same wizened energy and brilliant restraint as Crazy Horse, the Dead, Moby Grape and other like-minded cosmic travelers.
