2016 Bay Area Wellness Walks: Samuel P. Taylor SP
January 9, 2016 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pmFree
Please join Latino Outdoors on our first 2016 Wellness Walk!
The topic will be the ecology and lifecycle of our beloved Coho Salmon, and we will hopefully get a chance to view some of them as we walk along the creek. The Salmon Protection Action Network (SPAWN) will meet us at the trail, give the talk in English and two bilingual parkrangers will assist with the Spanish translation.
The shuttle will pick up participants at:
Mi Pueblo shopping center parking lot, 330 Bellam Blvd., San Rafael, CA 94901 – it will leave at 9:30 a.m. and will return by 3:30 p.m.
The shuttle will take us to the Samuel P. Taylor Sp Azalea picnic area entrance between 10:15-10:30 a.m. (lunch will be around 12pm-12:30pm, and the program will end at 2:30 p.m.)
The hike will start at the beautiful South Creek Trail where we will view local Coho salmon and explore their life cycle and ecology with the Salmon Protection and Watershed Network.
The hike will be about 3 miles, and we will walk along the South Creek Trail to the swimming hole and back.
Please bring sturdy shoes, wear layers, a hat, water and your favorite snack.
Transportation is limited to 18 participants and a reservation is required.
Please email Bay Area Regional Coordinator, Alicia Cruz at firstname.lastname@example.org for questions and to reserve your space for this hike.
