Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park
Meet at: Picnic and parking area just south of the visitor center and entrance kiosk at Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park
Description: Join Park Ranger Laura for an easy, ~1-mile stroll along Prairie Creek, where you might catch a glimpse of salmon spawning in the stream. Be prepared for wet or muddy conditions, bring rain gear, water (snacks if you need them), and wear sturdy walking or hiking shoes. Ranger Laura will briefly discuss Pacific salmon (especially those migrating up Prairie Creek), and their important role in the redwood ecosystem.
