PARK INFORMATION

HIGHLIGHTS: Admiral William Standley State Recreation Area is off the beaten path and does not offer any facilities, but if you happen to be cutting through the woods here from California State Route 1 (known as Highway 1) to get to US Highway 101 (or vice versa), stop and take in the gorgeous scenery: 45 acres of ancient redwoods along the jade-colored waters of the Eel River.

ACTIVITIES: Drive along Branscomb Road and stop at the turnouts to view old-growth redwoods along the Eel River.

VISITOR CENTER: None.

CAMPGROUNDS: None.

CABINS: None.

TRAILS: The trails are no longer maintained here.

MUST-SEE UNIQUE FEATURE OR SEASONAL HIGHLIGHT: In wintertime, wild mushrooms cropping up in the vicinity provide an interesting photography subject.
