Thanks to all who joined us last night for a conifer-inspired dinner party at Lazy Bear restaurant in San Francisco. The event, generously supported by Dodge & Cox, benefited the League’s education programs, which bring more than 7,000 young people to the redwood forest annually.
Permanent Protection for Dramatic Forest
onAbout a 2½-hour drive north of San Francisco, the League’s magnificent 870-acre Stewarts Point property has taken another step forward on its conservation and restoration journey. New agreements permanently protect the redwood forest, coast and a stretch of the South Fork Gualala River. Agreements will also grant an indigenous tribe permanent access to the seaside bluffs for ceremonies and ensure a public trail will open in 2019.
