Public access New trails open at San Vicente Redwoods More than 7 miles of multi-use trails opened to the public last week at San Vicente Redwoods in partnership with the Land Trust of Santa Cruz County. This is the first phase of a 38-mile trail system that is envisioned for this forest owned by Sempervirens Fund and Peninsula Open Space Trust since 2011, and where the League holds a conservation easement.
Protect League donates the famed Bennett Juniper to local land trust The League in November entrusted Mother Lode Land Trust with the long-term stewardship of Bennett Juniper, the largest juniper and one of the oldest known trees in the world. The League donated the 3,000-year-old tree and surrounding 3-acre property.
Giving TREESday Supporters rally in a big way for redwoods conservation More than 800 people came together to blow away our Giving TREESday fundraising goal for the Redwood Land Fund. Generous redwood lovers from all over the United States contributed, as well as friends in Germany, England, New Zealand, Thailand, Finland and Switzerland. Thank you so much!
