Epic makeover at a former redwood mill site in Humboldt County

Coho salmon and steelhead trout rediscovered a stretch of Prairie Creek this summer after crews restored a 1,000-foot section of streambed that had been degraded by timber mill operations. It's all part of the League's ongoing transformation of the 125-acre mill site into a world-class redwoods destination at the southern end of Redwood National and State Parks.
