Transformation Progress continues in Redwood National and State Parks Trails Gateway Save the Redwoods League, California Trout, and local partners began a second year of construction on the Redwood National and State Parks Trails Gateway & Prairie Creek Restoration project at the League’s Orick Mill Site in Humboldt County, the traditional lands of the Yurok.
Restoration Redwoods Rising continues groundbreaking work in northern forests The League’s partnership with California State Parks and National Park Service is in full gear with restoration throughout the two project areas in Greater Mill Creek and Greater Prairie Creek, as well as our apprenticeship program. Crews are removing old logging roads and opening up dark, dense, unhealthy second growth forests.
Exploration Redwood Connect grantees providing meaningful redwood experiences Through our Redwood Connect Grants, the League assists around 5,000 youth annually to have a redwood experience in their communities. Opening Community event to celebrate opening of San Vicente Redwoods on Oct. 24 The Land Trust of Santa Cruz County is hosting a community event on Oct. 24 from 5 to 7 p.m. in Westside Santa Cruz to celebrate the upcoming opening of new trails in San Vicente Redwoods. Learn about the opening, the new pass system, and the unique partnership between The Land Trust, Peninsula Open Space Trust, Sempervirens Fund, and Save the Redwoods League.
