Parks & Community Engagement

A strong connection with nature is essential for healthy communities, collective well-being, and the long-term care of redwood forests.

People Belong in Nature

We envision a network of redwood parks and programs that welcome all communities to the forest.

Together with our partners, we improve redwood parks and create inspiring forest experiences that connect all people with the natural world. With a focus on equitable access, we’re supporting stronger communities and a more inclusive conservation movement.

How We Work

Strong reciprocal relationships with diverse communities are essential to our work. Our collaborative approach means that park infrastructure, interpretation, and experiences are designed to be inclusive and sustainable—meeting the growing need for outdoor access while balancing resource protection. Along the way, we're engaging allies and inspiring the next generation of redwoods champions.

Community Access

We partner with community-based organizations and Tribes to remove barriers to outdoor access.

Education

Our education programs reach thousands of young people each year via free teacher training, curriculum, and field trips that connect K–12 students to the forest.

Interpretation

In collaboration with park, Tribal, and community partners, we develop park exhibits that elevate the value of the redwoods, and we facilitate the Redwood Interpreters Network.

Park Projects

Working closely with agency partners, we improve recreational infrastructure in existing public parks and create new redwood parks to meet an increased demand for outdoor access.
