Local organizations partner with the League to welcome more than 140 guests
In our ongoing effort to expand the community of people experiencing our redwoods, Save the Redwoods League last weekend hosted guided walks through two redwood parks in northern California. The League partnered with a number of local organizations to welcome both Latinx and Indigenous visitors for guided walks, food, and giveaways.
Weekend events at Arcata Redwood Park and Rohner Park in Fortuna drew more than 140 guests.
Visitors were also encouraged to participate in the League’s Summer in the Redwoods Community Challenge. To enter, all you need to do is take a selfie in one of the following north coast redwood parks and email it to us at outreach@savetheredwoods.org:

- Humboldt Redwoods State Park
- Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park
- Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park
- Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park
Four families will win a Golden Poppy Annual Day Use Pass from California State Parks.
Guided walks were led by the League interpretation and outreach apprentices Mayra Guzman, Jayrlin Molina, Natalia Sojka, and Ryan Shorrow.
