2025 Request for Proposal for Redwoods Rising Road Operations in Greater Mill Creek

Del Norte Coast Redwoods State Park and Redwood National Park, CA

In collaboration with the National Park Service (NPS) and the California Department of Parks and Recreation (CDPR), Save the Redwoods League (the League) is seeking proposals for services to conduct ecological restoration activities including road improvement and removal within Redwood National and State Parks (RNSP).

This project is expected to last for several years, and the intent is to develop a long-term relationship with trusted operators to implement a complex suite of activities across multiple watersheds, forest types, and road conditions. The focus of this contract is for one season ( June 15th – October 15th) of road work operations with the potential for a June 1 start or October extension if conditions allow. Competitive proposals will assure high quality and timely work, transparency in practices and accounting, employ local labor where possible, and demonstrate commitment to long-term stewardship. Potential bidders on this project are advised that most if not all components of the Work are “public works” pursuant to Labor Code Section 1720 and are subject to California state law prevailing wage requirements. As such contractor proposal costs must meet prevailing wage requirements for covered workers.

2025 Lodge Road Wildfire Resilience Demonstration Project

Big Basin Redwoods State Park, CA

In collaboration with the Santa Cruz District of California State Parks (State Parks) and Auten Resources Consulting (ARC), Save the Redwoods League (League) is seeking proposals for services to conduct mechanical fuels reduction operations in the Lodge Road area of Big Basin Redwoods State Park in Santa Cruz County, California. The project consists of 35 acres of mechanical fuel removal with operations commencing on or after April 1, 2025, and expected completion by June 30, 2025. Competitive proposals will assure high quality and timely work, transparency in practices and accounting, employ local labor where possible, and demonstrate commitment to long-term stewardship. The focus of this work is a small demonstration project with the potential to expand if performance is acceptable and subject to availability of funds.
