Francisco Antonio Saavedra Jr. is a federally recognized member of the Pit River Tribe, Madési Band, with Yurok and El Salvadoran ancestry. Raised in a multicultural background rooted in Native American spiritualism, he is dedicated to restoring California’s ecosystems through the integration of Traditional Ecological Knowledge and modern forestry practices. An ambassador for California Resilient Careers in Forestry, Francisco is currently studying Tribal Forestry and Natural Resources at Cal Poly Humboldt.
