California State Parks, Save the Redwoods League, National Park Service, and Redwood Parks Conservancy partner to protect and to improve visitor access to the Grove of Titans in Jedediah Smith Redwoods — one of the last remnants of old-growth coast redwood forest and home to some of the world’s largest coast redwoods.

Match Goal Reached: Giant Step for Grove of Titans

Thanks to more than 3,000 passionate League members, Save the Redwoods reached a major milestone to protect the ancient coast redwood Grove of Titans in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State Park. Our members donated over $500,000 by December 31, more than meeting the dollar-for-dollar match challenge by supporter Josie Merck. This means that over $1 million will go toward the $3.5 million goal to safeguard these majestic redwoods and provide safe visitor access.

The Power of Partnership Will Protect the Grove of Titans

Discovered in 1998, the Grove of Titans is a stand of gargantuan coast redwoods immured deep in the lush Mill Creek watershed. Their discovery was a momentous occasion in the world of redwoods conservation and science, and soon led to concerns about visitor impacts.
