Redwood Regional Stroll: Walk in the largest remaining stand of coast redwoods in the San Francisco area’s East Bay. Join the East Bay Regional Park District from 10 a.m. to noon Sunday, November 20, 2011, for a stroll through Redwood Regional Park. This 3-mile guided hike will feature chaparral-oak woodland then meander back under the redwood canopy.

Snowshoe in Seki: Free Rental, Ranger-Led Walks Among Sequoias

See the giant sequoias of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks (otherwise known as “SEKI”) cloaked in winter white while walking atop the snow-on snowshoes. Through March, the Giant Forest and Lodgepole areas offer ranger-led snowshoe walks during most weekends, snow permitting. The snowshoe rental and the walk are free.
