List of Redwood Park Closures and Updates

Status Updates

We’re Monitoring the Impact of Coronavirus (COVID-19) on Redwoods Parks

Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, a number of local, state, and federal jurisdictions have restricted access to redwood parks. Below is the most updated list we have of these parks.

While at this point, all California State Parks remain open, because of the high volume of visitors and the danger that presents, several have closed access to vehicular traffic. Those have been noted on the list below. California State Parks has also closed all campgrounds, as well as many museums, visitor centers and other public spaces. All scheduled events have been canceled.

As with California State Parks, most redwood parks have closed public buildings, and many have restricted or closed access to bathrooms. We advise you to visit the website of any redwood park prior to visiting to learn about closures and restrictions.

It is also very important that visitors to any park maintain rules around social distancing:

  • Visit parks by yourself or with a small group from your household.
  • Do not form in crowds
  • Do not visit parks if you feel ill
  • Maintain a distance of six feet or more from others at all times
