Could your organization use $6k for field trips?

Fall always signals fun changes. The school year beginning, the foliage shifting to shades of gold and red, the window opening to apply for Redwood Connect Grants. Now is the time to think about how a $6,000 grant might support your organization’s programming and get young people into the forest to experience the wonder of the tallest trees in the world.

Since 2000, Save the Redwoods League has awarded more than 300 grants for redwood field trips serving thousands of children and families—and we are once again seeking community, school, and park partners to deliver redwoods inspiration. Whether you are thinking of spending a day in the redwoods, conducting a restoration project, or hosting an overnight camping trip, our Redwood Connect Grants can help provide needed funds for transportation, supplies, and instruction.

The League is accepting 2024/25 applications until the October 18th deadline. We’re seeking projects that:

  • Deliver an inspiring first-hand experience in the redwoods, defined by community interests and needs.
  • Directly serve youth ages pre-K to 21 who might not otherwise have the opportunity to visit the redwoods.
  • Engage low-income youth, young people of color, and Indigenous communities that often face barriers to outdoor access.

Projects should be completed by the end of summer 2025 and applicants must be non-profit organizations—sorry, no individual superheroes. Applications for $500 Transportation Grants to cover bus rides are also available.

So grab an application and tell us how your organization will provide exciting and inclusive adventures in the redwoods. We can’t wait to hear your ideas!
