During the lock down I’m really missing the opportunity to get out into the redwoods. First chance I get I think a day trip to Henry Cowell or Big Basin is in order.

I walked from LA to Mendocino after being discharged from the Army in 68, I lived in a redwood log for 6 weeks and a teepee for 5 years in Albion and helped build many cabins from redwood logs that had been cut in the early 1900’s and fell the wrong way and were left untouched til we had cut split and built the cabins this gave me a true appreciation of our planet that I try to pass on to everyone

Bear. I love it!!! What a time to have been backwoods Mendo. I was only ten years old in 1968-too young to participate but old enough to remember. The name “Comptche” came to me during a dream and I had never been there up to that time. Sherwood, Bell Springs Road-gotta go! Peace.
