Sometimes it takes a helicopter

League partners to restore fish habitat in the Corridor from the Redwoods to the Sea

Wanna see some really cool river restoration work in progress? Sure you do. Especially when it involves helicopters!

Here’s the gist: Save the Redwoods League was awarded a grant by CalFire under the Forest Health program to establish a 16-mile fuel break, conduct a 170-acre prescribed burn, and install at least 200 logs as large woody debris into tributaries of the Mattole River (to improve fish habitat). The League partnered with landowner Bob Stansberry, Mattole Salmon Group, Mattole Restoration Council, and the Bureau of Land Management to collaborate and implement the project work involved in the grant.
