Defiant Redwood of the Week: Giant Tree

Giant Tree in the Rockefeller Loop of Humboldt Redwoods State Park is not the biggest or the tallest, but it might be the most coast redwood-ish. And that’s probably why it got its designation from the American Forestry Association as the National Champion Coast Redwood in 1991.

José González, League councilor and founder of Latino Outdoors, put together this great playlist. “This playlist is about connection to the redwoods, over the arc of a day. It’s about the love of redwoods, and I imagined parts of it being a drive along the California coast on a ride to the redwoods,” he explained.
